The CJI impeachment row has taken another twist with the Bar Council of India now passing a resolution that has stung 3 congress leaders who are also practising lawyers. The Bar council has said that those who move an impeachment motion against any High Court or Supreme Court judge will not be allowed to appear before the said judges bench or practice in that particular court. This resolution is a direct setback for 3 Congress leaders who are also practising advocates- Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Vivek Tankha. The Congress along with other opposition parties is expected to move an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice. The sources say in case if their move is foiled in the Rajya Sabha, Congress may move the Supreme Court.
