A Comparison of Temperatures at the Blue Hole
Winslow Township, New Jersey
12-7-2017 (Axis Video)

There are many legends, stories and tales associated with the Blue Hole. One is that the water is icy to the touch no matter the time of year, day or season.

The presumption is that the body of water will be much colder than the surrounding land and objects.

Air Temperature:
46 degrees
Partly cloudy

Temp of Blue Hole water:
38.8

Temperature of plastic at Blue Hole:
47.6

Temperature of ground:
33.2

Temperature of rock:
35.2

The results are that the water is colder than the air temperature and of plastic. But warmer than the ground and of (dry) rocks. But these recorded temperatures are normal for surface temps under these conditions

Keep in mind:
This is strictly a case study and has not yet been replicated since the testing date of December 7th, 2017. There is a planned follow up visit during the different seasons to see if the results vary.
Stay tuned.
