Linda Brown, Center of Brown V. Board of Education Case, Dies Brown died on Sunday in Kansas at the age of 75. She was the leading figure of the 1951 Brown v. Board of Education case that ended segregation in American schools. Brown was only nine years old when her father tried to enroll her in an all-white school. When the school prohibited her enrollment, her father sued the city's board of education.
