Gina Rodriguez Starring in Netflix’s Live-Action ‘Carmen Sandiego’ Movie Netflix has tapped the “Jane the Virgin” star to play the character in their upcoming film adaptation of the educational series in 2019. Rodriguez will also be playing the globetrotting criminal in an animated series that will also hit the streaming service next year. Rodriguez is set to produce the film through I Can And I Will banner alongside Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser, with Andy Berman as executive producer. Rodriguez most recently starred alongside Natalie Portman in Alex Garland’s sci-fi horror film “Annihilation."
