Netflix's Carmen Sandiego movie has hired a writer.
Comicbook.com reports Mark Perez will pen the Gina Rodriguez-led movie.
Netflix acquired the live-action rights to the Carmen Sandiego brand in March.
Netflix announced plans for an animated series in April 2017.
Rodriguez is set to star in the film and voice the title character in the animated series.
The animated series will also star Finn Wolfard as Carmen's accomplice, Player.
