iPhone stops bullet during armed robbery of Fresno State stu

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -- Fresno police are looking for a man they say committed an armed robbery Monday night. Police say they received a report of a gunshot around 11:00 p.m. near Bulldog Lane and Ninth Street. When police arrived, they located a man who said he was robbed at gunpoint. The victim said he was walking up to his front door when he heard somebody behind him. When he turned, he said a man wearing a ski mask and dark clothes pointed a gun at him and grabbed the laptop bag he was carrying. Police say the victim tried to hold onto the bag and the suspect fired a single shot and ran away. Police say the bullet ricocheted off the cellphone in the victims pocket, breaking the phone. The victim was not injured. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, 5 10 tall and 170 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno Police Department.
