Officer killed on duty: Officer Robert Wilson III shot during armed robbery, Philadelphia GameStop

Philadelphia police officer Robert Wilson III was fatally wounded while attempting to stop an armed robbery at the GameStop video game store in Hope Plaza Shopping Center on 2101 West Lehigh Avenue Thursday afternoon.
Officer Robert Wilson III was at the Gamestop in Hope Plaza Shopping Center to purchase a video game for his 9-year-old son.
Around 4:30 p.m., two brothers, ages 29 and 24, entered the video game store and announced a robbery.
Wilson engaged the suspects and exchanged gunfire—the officer was under gunfire from both sides.
Wilson's partner, responded to the sound of the gunshots and exchanged gunfire with one suspect who was trying to flee.
A CBS affiliate in Philadelphia reports that Wilson was shot nine times, including once in the head. One of the suspects was shot in the leg.
The uninjured suspect tried blending in with a crowd at the scene with his weapon still on his person. Both suspects were taken into custody.
Wilson, a father-of-two and 8-year-veteran of the Philadelphia police force was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m.
