Parkland Drama Students Release Song 'Shine' to Benefit Community Members After the Shooting Following the National School Walkout, the song performed by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School drama club was released on iTunes and major streaming platforms. Miley Cyrus implored her 40 million Twitter followers to go and download the track. 'Shine' was originally performed by the club at a CNN Town Hall event a week after 17 students were shot and killed at the Parkland school. "We, we're gonna stand tall/ Gonna raise up our voices, so we'll never, ever fall/ We're done with all your little games/ We're tired of hearing that we're too young to ever make a change All proceeds will be donated to the SHINE MSD Fund — a non-profit dedicated to helping support survivors, families, and community members impacted by the shooting recover.
