First daughter Ivanka Trump and first lady Melania Trump issued tweets about International Women's Day and both faced a bit of backlash. "Today we come together in recognition of women at home & around the globe," Ivanka Trump wrote. "We celebrate women's achievements, past & present, & pledge to empower women to reach their full economic potential for generations to come. When women thrive, we ALL succeed."  Responses to the posting included, "You can start by paying a fair wage to your sweat shop workers in China. Better yet, have your products manufactured in the US," and, "if actions speak louder than words then you need to sit this one out."  The first lady's tweet was more of an announcement than a message, but drew criticism, nonetheless.  "Today we recognize, celebrate & honor women around the globe. On March 21, I will be at the @StateDept to present the #WomenOfCourage award to some extraordinary women," she noted. Among the many unfavorable responses was, "Melania-I don't know where to begin. Your husband's administration is undermining women every day. When will you truly stand up for women's rights instead of being #complicit? I wish you greater empathy and compassion."
