Over 100 Women Got This Same Feminist Tattoo

More than 100 women got the exact same feminist tattoo, ‘Nevertheless, she persisted.’ It started with one woman, Nora McInerny of Minneapolis, MN. McInerny invited her friends to get matching tattoos, but thousands showed interest in the Facebook event. More than 100 women showed up. “Every woman I know, or don’t know, can see themselves in those words,” says McInerny, “We spend a lot of our time trying to be agreeable.” The parlor was so overwhelmed that the staff promised to provide the tattoos through March, and $55 of the $75 charge will be donated to Women Winning - a nonprofit that encourages pro-choice women to run for office. ‘Nevertheless, she persisted,’ was made famous when Sen. Mitch McConnell silenced Sen. Elizabeth Warren on the Senate floor as she attempted to read a letter by Coretta Scott King.
