Therapist-Led Meditation: Detaching From Overthinking

When our thoughts spin and are allowed to dictate our behaviors, we lose precious time in our lives, and sometimes react in ways that are not in line with our deepest wisdom.

This 15 minute mindfulness meditation is for beginners and experienced meditators, who would like to spend some time practicing awareness of thoughts and feelings, and detaching from those that overwhelm and do not fit our rational mind.

This guided meditation is designed to train your mind for compassionate detachment from patterns of over-thinking and perhaps bring peace and relaxation to your day. This meditation encourages a calm awareness of the breath, and also a gentle detachment from the habit of rumination.

The practice may be useful for alleviating symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, BPD, depression, insomnia, and more. By practicing mindfulness techniques of conscious observation and self compassion, you will find you are more able to quiet and relax an overly active mind, and also naturally increase your awareness and groundedness in the present moment.

This meditation experience may be repeated as often as you choose to reinforce your intentions.

This session is recommended for repeated listening as regular practice will help to create new, calmer neuro-pathways, and deepen positive results.

Please only use this meditation when your attention is not needed elsewhere. Thank you for practicing with me today.

Peace,
