Well this is something you don’t see everyday. Lisa Vankula Donovan spent hours trying to capture these spiny leaf insects, or extatosoma tiaratum, hatching and her patience finally paid off.Lisa woke up early to set up the camera in the hopes of capturing the bugs emerging from their eggs. After hours of useless footage, Lisa finally got what she wanted.One of the spiny leaf insects is seen here breaking free from it’s shell. The amazing part is how such a large insect can came from such a tiny egg. With flexible limbs the bugs are able to curl up in ball and fill the space of the egg.
