BCCI announced a cash prize of 30 lakh rupees for all the players of the U19 World cup, the also announced a price money of 50 lakh for coach Ravi Shastri and 20 lakh rupess each for the support staff. The chairman of the CoA, Vinod Rai, said, “I congratulate the U19 team who have made the country proud. Rahul Dravid played his cricket with sincerity and it was pleasing to see the boys uphold the value. They have been fantastic athletes and even better ambassadors. The boys have done so well, and I am sure they will work hard and climb the ladder and represent the senior team in the future.” India defeated Australia in the finals by 8 wickets to clinch the converted trophy for a record 4th time.
