A Winter Storm Warning warning remains in effect until 3 p.m. Saturday as heavy snow blanketed parts of the Chicago metro area Friday evening. The heaviest amounts of accumulation will be north, west, and northwest of the city, where snowfall totals could amount to 6 to 9 inches. The city and southern suburbs could see 3 to 6 inches of snow.
