Santa Barbara County Fire Crews Survey Mudslide Damage, Clear Roads

Mudslides destroyed roughly 100 homes in Montecito, California, on Tuesday, January 10, after heavy rainfall drenched the area, primarily near the Thomas Fire burn area.The Santa Barbara County Fire Department and other agencies surveyed the damage as rescues were attempted. The department also used heavy dozers and other equipment to clear debris and boulders from blocked roadways, as seen in these videos. The debris was thick enough to destroy homes, or cover them entirely.NBC Los Angeles reported 13 people died and more than 20 were injured in the slides.
