The fourth stage of the 2018 Dakar Rally was around San Juan De Marcona in Peru with a timed section of 330Km and transport section of 114km.The fourth stage was a challenging one as it offered different terrain in the beginning before hitting the longest sand section in the history of Dakar, a 100km stretch with dunes.

In the bikes category, Yamaha rider Adrian van Beveren took the stage win and the rally lead as KTM rider Sam Sunderland suffered a crash. The Briton rider sustained injuries to his back and has been ruled out of the rally. Pablo Quintanilla and Kevin Benavides rounded off the top three riders in the overall standings.
