Disney Acquires 21st Century Fox assets for $52.4 Billion Exact terms of the purchase will see Disney take control of Fox's movie studios, network Nat Geo, Asian pay-TV operator Star TV, stakes in Sky and Hulu and regional sports networks. The businesses included give the deal a total value of nearly $66.1 billion, with Disney assuming $13.7 billion of Fox's net debt. Bob Iger will remain Disney's chairman and CEO through the end of 2021. This gives us the ability to marry the great content of Fox with the great content of Disney. It gives us a much larger international footprint and it enables us to use cutting edge technology to reach consumers in far more compelling ways. Disney announced plans in August to start stand-alone streaming services and pull its movies off Netflix starting in 2019.
