Nancy Pelosi on Tuesday said Donald Trump should have never become president when asked if he should resign in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said on Tuesday that Donald Trump should not have become president.
When asked by a reporter if the president should resign in the wake of numerous sexual misconduct allegations, Pelosi replied, "I don't think he ever should have been president."
There has been a renewed focus on the allegations after some of the women who have accused Trump of misconduct appeared for an interview and a press appearance on Monday.
The New York Times noted that these women are "betting that recently aggressive attitudes against harassment will give their stories new life and demanding that Congress investigate the president's actions."
However, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders pushed back on the idea of an investigation into the matter.
"The president has addressed these accusations directly and denied all of these allegations," Sanders said during Monday's briefing. "This took place long before he was elected to be President. And the people of this country, at a decisive election, supported President Trump, and we feel like these allegations have been answered through that process."
Trump dismissed the accusations as "fake news" in a tweet Tuesday morning.
"Despite thousands of hours wasted and many millions of dollars spent, the Democrats have been unable to show any collusion with Russia - so now they are moving on to the false accusations and fabricated stories of women who I don't know and/or have never met," Trump wrote on Twitter. "FAKE NEWS!"
