'Cannot Obstruct Justice’ John Dowd to NBC News President Trump raised eyebrows with his tweets
over the weekend concerning why he fired he former national security adviser, Michael Flynn. Trump said he knew Flynn lied to Vice President Mike Pence and the FBI, which implied Trump knew Flynn had committed a felony when he told then-FBI director James Comey to go easy on Flynn the day
after the firing. Dowd later stepped in to say that he wrote the tweets, not the president. Some experts have said what Trump did could be construed as obstructing justice.
