The statement was made by K.T. Rama Rao, an official in India, on Wednesday at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, a three-day event held in Hyderabad, and as part of Ivanka's panel introduction, reports Channel NewsAsia.
Her comments throughout the summit were largely focused on opening more employment opportunities for women.
She specifically addressed "women's issues," in the workplace, noting, "We are half the population so we need to start thinking about them as critical issues."
While Ivanka may not typically be regarded as the world's most powerful woman, she is considered as one of the most influential in the Trump administration.
Forbes recently placed her at number 19 on its 2017 'World's Most Powerful Women' list.
