Maine Governor to Block Medicaid Expansion

Less than 24 hours after the state of Maine overwhelmingly supported the expansion of the Medicaid, the state's governor says he will block its immediate implementation. In a statement Wednesday, Paul Lepage, a member of the Republican party, said, "My administration will not implement Medicaid expansion until it has been fully funded by the Legislature at the levels the Department of Health and Human Services has calculated.
