President Trump on Thursday cast doubt upon the future of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

In an interview on Fox News' 'The Ingraham Angle,' he responded "we will see" to a question about whether Tillerson will remain in his post for the duration of the term.
Trump also gave a lukewarm assessment of the secretary's job performance, commenting, "Rex is in there working hard. He's doing his best, he's doing the best he can."
When asked about the numerous vacancies in the State Department and their possible impacts on results, the president responded, "The one that matters is me. I am the only one that matters. When it comes to it, that's what the policy will be."
The apparent tension between Trump and Tillerson is not new.
In early October, the president seemingly criticized the secretary's attempts to take a diplomatic route towards resolving the conflicts between the United States and North Korea.
"I told Rex Tillerson, our wonderful secretary of state, that he is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man," Trump wrote in a tweet.
Days later, NBC News reported that Tillerson had called the president a "moron" following a summer meeting at the Pentagon.
Tillerson addressed that report by offering glowing comments about the president but did not deny the claim, notes CNN.
