My Style Evolution

Wanted to mention that I had to edit this video down a ton to keep it fairly short! So I didnt get to explain my full style evolution thoroughly. First thing, sorry to disappoint anyone but I dont ually listen to k-pop anymore. Some of you guys seemed excited about it, but I havent followed k-pop for several yrs now, I just see/hear bits here and there. Next, when I talk about how my outfits were popular styles on tumblr, that was because I spent a lot more time on tumblr back then haha, but also “tumblr fashion” or “tumblr style” seemed to be more prominent at the time. Nowadays social media like Instagram also has an influence, such as with “instagram makeup”. My own style was formed by a combination of various inspirations taken from images I saw online, on film/TV, on style icons, as well as in-real-life, and Tumblr was and still is an excellent source for finding inspiration as its so diverse and varied depending on who you follow. Another thing to note is that trend forecasting (sounds pretentious, but thats the technical term LOL) has been an interest of mine for many years, so I had fun figuring out which trends were coming next (check out WGSN to learn more about trend forecasting and analytics). Trends have always been fascinating to me and I think they can be really fun, regardless whether youre ahead of the trends or following current trends. While I cant say that Ive ever been the type to follow trends just because they were trends, I think its okay to do that too. Personally I just wore things I enjoyed that inspired me at the time.
