Did researchers find a way to test CTE in living players?

In the wake of Aaron Hernandez's brain test confirmation of CTE, researchers grapple with diagnosing the condition before death. Thanks to Boston University researchers, there may be a way to do it. Apparently, the compound cytokine is elevated in those who had CTE. But it was absent in healthy people. Dr. Anne McKee, Boston University The team was unable to pinpoint why cytokine levels were raised in those with CTE. But Dr. McKee was certain of one thing: "You certainly would want to limit their future head impact exposure." The team is conducting more research and hope to find a treatment.
