Ann Coulter has expressed her preference for Vice President Pence following President Trump’s lack of progress on immigration-related policies.
The conservative commentator said during a Newsmax TV interview Wednesday, “If we're not getting a wall, we may as well have an attractive, dignified Republican there. We'll get better Supreme Court justices under Pence.”
She also stood by her tweet from last week that stated, “At this point, who DOESN'T want Trump impeached?”
Coulter’s post was in response to Trump’s defense on asking Congress to come up with a legislative solution for "Dreamers," allowing them to stay in the U.S.
Her remarks to Newsmax fall in line with another tweet back in June.
“If @VP Pence were smart, starting making noises about how he'd LOVE to build a wall. He'd be sworn in as president [in] about 2 weeks," Coulter said.
While she had supported Trump early on during his election campaign, Coulter has since become a vocal critic over lack of follow through on immigration-related promises.
Despite his seemingly softened stance on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the president has said he is committed to his signature border project. “The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built," he tweeted last week.
