‘Aggravating’: Obama Shares His Thoughts On GOP's Obamacare Repeal Efforts
  • 7 years ago
Former President Obama said on Wednesday it's "aggravating" to witness GOP's efforts on repealing Obamacare.

Former President Obama has called the GOP’s multiple attempts to repeal his signature healthcare law “aggravating.”
At an event hosted by the Gates Foundation Wednesday, he talked about the “thousands upon thousands of Americans [who] threw themselves into the collective effort of reforming our health care system.”
“The legislation that we passed was full of things that still need to be fixed," Obama later acknowledged. "It wasn’t perfect, but it was better."
“So when I see people trying to undo that hard-won progress for the 50th or 60th time, with bills that would raise costs or reduce coverage or roll back protections...it is aggravating," Obama added. "And all of this being done without any demonstrable economic or actuarial or plain common sense rationale--it frustrates."
Obama’s comments come as Republican senators work to pass another bill designed to put an end to Obamacare.
Sponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, it would get rid of health care mandates and provide federal funding for states to use at their own discretion.
