Footage has emerged from Mexico City of scores of volunteers helping authorities to rescue victims of Tuesday's 7.1 magnitude quake by forming a human chain.

The video, captured on September 19, shows people removing debris and transporting it in barrels following the collapse of a building in the area.

Authorities dug through rubble early Wednesday, searching for survivors. At least 248 are confirmed dead.
