انسان کے دو تقاضے بیان کیے ہیں اللہ تبارک تعالی نے قرآنِ حکیم کے اندر کہ انسان جو ہے یہ دو حصوں میں بٹا ہوا ہے،یہ دو حصوں میں تقسیم ہے آج اِس کی ضرورت ہے کہ یہ اپنے آپکو اُس دنیا،اُس کائنات میں اپنا موازنہ کرے جہاں یہ اپنے ان دونوں تقاضوں کو بیلنس کر سکتا ہے۔ ایک تقاضا اِس کے نفسِ امارہ کا ہےاور ایک تقاضا اِس کی روح کی اچھائی،اسکی روح کے خیر اور، اِس کی روح کی بھلائی اور اِس کی روح کے اندر موجود سرچشمۂ نور سے ہے۔ اِس لیے کہ نفس کی جو امّارہ صفات ہیں،جو اس کی بری صفات ہیں وہ تمام کی تمام وہ صفات ہیں جن کا تعلق اندھیرے سے ہے،جن کا تعلق تاریکی سے ہے اور روح کی جتنی اعلی صفات ہیں،جتنی روح کی امتیازی صفات ہیں ان سب کا تعلق نور سے ہے،اور اُن کا تعلق ایک ایسی آنکھ سے ہے جو آنکھ انسان کے ظاہر میں نہیں جو آنکھ انسان کے باطن میں پوشیدہ ہے۔
Allah pak details two primary needs of humanity in the Holy Quran. Man has two sides to his personality and as his being is divided into two, his needs are divided into two. The thing is how can one balance these two mutually conflicting needs. The bodily desires are there to hegemonise the self. On the hand, soul has its own inclination. The welfare of the soul and the cultivation of inner light require a completely different set of habits. It is because the bodily desires are disposed towards evil and have their allegiance to darkness. On the other hand, the soulful desires partake of light. The desires of the soul are connected to light and an inner vision. They are linked with the eye of the soul. It is an eye that has its seat in the invisible domain rather than the visible domain.
