President Trump lambasted the ‘fake new’ media on Friday morning as a hurricane was closing in on Texas, and CNN’s Jim Acosta shot back with a salient point.
The response came not long after Trump tweeted, “General John Kelly is doing a fantastic job as Chief of Staff. There is tremendous spirit and talent in the W.H. Don't believe the Fake News.”
Acosta wrote, “Not a good time to take shots at ‘fake news.' Millions will be relying on national and local news outlets to stay safe during hurricane.”
Minutes later, he added, “Good morning Mr. President...what is your administration doing about the hurricane to keep Texans safe?”
CNN reports that Hurricane Harvey is headed towards the Texas coast and is expected to reach land as soon as Friday evening, bringing up to 35 inches of rain.
According to the National Weather Service, areas hit could remain, “uninhabitable for weeks or months."
