Report: Despite Internet's Skepticism, 9-Year-Old 'Pickle' Is Real

The Washington Post was able to track down 9-year-old Pickle whose letter to President Trump was recently read during a White House press briefing.

After White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders read a fan letter addressed to President Trump from 9-year-old Dylan, nicknamed 'Pickle,' on Wednesday, many on social media expressed doubts about the authenticity of the letter and its author.
Twitter users focused on the way some words were spelled, questions that were asked by Pickle, and some observers pointed out that the copy of the letter posted online by Sanders didn't have a fold.
Amid growing skepticism, the Washington Post did some digging and reports that Pickle is indeed real.
The publication connected with Pickle's mother, SueAnn, through Facebook and then talked to her on the phone.
"SueAnn does not consider herself to be very political. She was a little taken aback by her son’s sudden love for Trump,' according to the Post. "But she is always behind her children 'one-hundred percent,' so when Pickle asked for 'a Donald Trump suit' for his birthday, she bought him one, and when he asked for 'a Donald Trump cake,' she made him one herself, because she couldn’t find a bakery willing and able to do it."
In the letter, Pickle wrote, in part, "...you are my favorite president. I like you so much I had a birthday about you. My cake was the shape of your hat.”
Pickle also wondered, “I don’t know why people don’t like you. You seem really nice. Can we be friends?”
To this, Sanders responded during the briefing, “I’m happy to say that I directly spoke to the president...and he would be more than happy to be your friend.”
