In an exceptional rare event, the American Olympic champion #Michael_Filves competed with # white sharks, in the #Korea Week on July 24 in Cape Town, South Africa, sponsored by Discovery Television.
According to the French newspaper Le Monde and a number of foreign media, the race between Phelps and the shark was titled "The Golden Great against the Great White." The Olympic champion and the white shark competed for 100 meters. The latter finished first with 36.1 seconds, Phelps cut the distance by 38.1 seconds, losing only two seconds.
Ahead of this challenge, which has received great media attention since it was announced weeks ago, American Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps made serious marathon preparations with two paws, separated from his sharp teeth by the bars of the cage he was protecting.
"I want to get the race back, but I want the next competition to be in warm water," Michael Phelps said on Twitter.
Michael Phelps, who won most of the underwater races, decided to race to the white shark, expressing his desire to outshine the white shark and prove his worth swimming.
"I always wanted to do this, diving with white sharks," he said.
The white shark is one of the fastest predators, while Phelps is the most Olympic medalist with 28 medals, including 23 gold, 3 silver and two bronze.
The maximum speed reached by the American swimmer was 6 miles per hour, while the speed of the white shark was 25 miles per hour.
