French bank BNP Paribas slammed with $246M fines

French bank BNP Paribas must pay $246 million to settle a currency manipulation scandals. Officials said traders at various companies communicated via online chat rooms to share currency bids, without permission from their banks. The Federal Reserve has fined more than $2 billion against seven banks involved in the controversy. "BNP Paribas deeply regrets the past misconduct, which was a clear breach of the high standards on which the group operates,” the bank said in a statement Monday.
