There's potential trouble brewing when it comes to Amazon acquiring Whole Foods. U.S. Representative David Cicilline, who is part of the House's antitrust subcommittee, wants to have a look at the deal's potential impact on consumers. Amazon’s proposed purchase of Whole Foods could impact neighborhood grocery stores and hardworking consumers across America," Cicilline said in a statement. "Congress has a responsibility to fully scrutinize this merger before it goes ahead. Amazon initially agreed to buy Whole Foods for $13.7 billion back in June. Amazon remained flat in late Friday trading at $1,001 a share.
