Birth control pill chemicals are turning fish transgender

Male fish are turning into females thanks to chemicals from birth control pills that are being flushed down household drains. The discovery is part of a new study led by Professor Charles Tyler, of the University of Exeter. The study found male river fish are now producing eggs while others have reduced sperm count and are even displaying less aggressive behavior. In addition to the chemicals in contraceptive pills, ingredients found in cleaning agents, plastics, and cosmetics are also causing the change.
