To Catch a Predator: Family sets up own sting in backyard to catch a predator - TomoNews

DEL CITY, OKLAHOMA — A father decided to take things into his own hands when he discovered his 15-year-old daughter was exchanging sexually explicit messages with a 33-year-old man.

The father, who does not want to be identified, found out his daughter was exchanging sexual photos and messages using the Family Time app, KOCO 5 reported.

The app lets parents keep track of their child’s phone calls and text messages and gives them the authority to block apps and games.

The father then set up his own sting to catch a predator himself. He pretended to be his daugher online and arranged to have the man come to their backyard to a tent under the pretense there was to be some sexy time.

Unfortunately for the man when he arrived at the tent on the night of June 22, the only thing waiting for him was a trap.

The family’s surveillance video shows the man approach the tent, but then get immediately tackled by the father, the father's cousin and his nephew.

The father then zip-tied the man’s hands and feet until the police showed up.

The man was arrested on complaints of unlawful communication by the use of technology, using a phone and social media to communicate with a minor.

What’s next for the father? Hopefully some life lessons for his daughter.
