Tupac: Life Goes On

California Love! Everybody knows the iconic beginning to one of rap legend Tupac Shakur's biggest hits. But did you know that Tupac was actually born in Harlem, New York. Born to parents Alice Faye Williams and Billy Garland, who were both part of the Black Panthers, Tupac had a tumultuous childhood and moved around a lot. He was very much into performing arts. Tupac's passion for music would be influenced by his time in the streets of California, which would eventually lead to him becoming a global icon. Throughout his rap career, Tupac released many notable records, feuded with Notorious B.I.G. and signed with Deathrow Records. Later, Tupac would die of multiple gunshot wounds from a drive-by shooting that — on paper at least — looked to be gang-related and not an orchestrated attack. The death of Tupac on Sept. 13, 1996, remains unsolved today and one giant mystery.
