Comey to tell Senate 'Trump expected my loyalty'

Fired FBI Director James Comey's opening remarks to the Senate were released and they contained quite a few interesting anecdotes. Comey never said that he would end the FBI's investigation into ousted Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn when pressed by Trump, but he did reaffirm the president's assertion that Flynn is "a good guy." But perhaps the most telling detail of the pair's conversation over dinner on January 27 was that Trump told Comey, ‘I need loyalty, I expect loyalty.' “I didn’t move, speak, or change my facial expression in any way during the awkward silence that followed. We simply looked at each other in silence.” Comey also says that he reassured Trump multiple times that he wasn't under investigation regarding any potential link to Russia.
