Donald Trump demanded James Comey’s loyalty and didn’t get it: report

According to a report by The New York Times, a week after Trump was sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, he met with James Comey at a private dinner and asked the FBI director to pledge his loyalty. Comey's reply was that he would promise his honesty, but not his loyalty. That was the beginning of this downfall. Trump fired Comey as FBI director on Tuesday, after a finding by the Justice Department Trump also acknowledged for the first time Thursday, that the Russia investigation was also on his mind when taking the decision of dismissing Comey.
