'Wonder Woman' breaks box office record in its opening weekend

'Wonder Woman' director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot had a great weekend. The action-packed superheroine film brought home an estimated $100.5 million, making Jenkins earn the honor of highest box office opening for a female director. The pre-show on Thursday night raked in $11 million alone, and the film currently has a rating of 93 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Jenkins spoke about what the film meant to her as its visionary: "This is such an important time in the world for people to think about what kind of hero they would want to be and what we’re going to do to save this world that I was honored to get to join in the dialogue.” Fans have taken to the internet to show how much the film has inspired them.
