Richard Barbrook, senior lecturer at the University of Westminster, gave his take on the recent global cyber-attack with ransomware called WannaCry which infected computers all over the world last weekend. Hackers behind the attack forced owners of affected computers to pay $300 in BitCoin before regaining access to their files. The attack affected NHS computers in the UK, public transport systems in Germany and even the Russian Interior Ministry. It is thought to be the largest cyber attack to date.
