Pro-Immigrant Mothers Rally Outside Trump Hotel in DC

The political activist group MomsRising led a protest outside President Donald Trump’s new hotel in central Washington on May 12, rallying in favor of diversity, benefits for mothers, and against the deportation of immigrants.Among the earliest speaker was MomsRising campaign director Khadija Gurnah, who told the crowd she was proud to stand and protest and work in favor of “affordable childcare, paid family leave” and healthcare.National Immigration Law Center attorney Jessica Hahn spoke against deportations, telling the protesters, “Tearing apart families is not only immoral, it’s also very costly.”
