Low Visibility as Dust Storm Sweeps Through Inner Mongolia

A dust storm enveloped huge swathes of northern China reducing visibility and disrupting flights on May 5. This video shows the sky from Inner Mongolia’s turning yellow from the dust veil.China’s Meteorological Administration reported the dust and sand would sweep through other parts of northern China including Beijing, Gansu, Ningxia and Xinjiang. Domestic and international flights were also grounded due to concerns around low visibility, according to the AFP.
