CBI tighten its noose on top UPA leaders accused in corruption cases

As the Lalit Modi-Sushma Swaraj controversy refuses to die down with opposition parties continuing their assault against the BJP government , the CBI seems to have opened a front against the UPA by speeding up the investigation in cases involving senior Congress leaders. While on Wednesday CBI registered a case against former Union textiles minister Shankersinh Vaghela for allegedly selling over 27,000 square metre of a National Textile Corporation property in Mumbai to a private company, a preliminary inquiry was initiated against Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh and his family members on Thursday for allegedly amassing wealth of Rs 6.1 crore.
