India lodges protest with Islamabad over Akhnoor ceasefire violation

India has lodged protest with Pakistan over ceasefire violation in Akhnoor sector in Jammu in which one woman was killed. India's reaction came a day after Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire twice by resorting to firing and mortar shelling in the Akhnoor sector in which a woman was killed and six others, including two BSF jawans, were injured. Meanwhile, India and Pakistan traded heavy firing exchanges on the International Border in Jammu district on Thursday on the eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's day-long visit to the region.
