Hindu Suraksha Samiti's Punjab chief shot dead by bodyguard

The Punjab unit president of the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti, Manish Sood, alias Bunty, was shot dead by his security guard at his house in Sirhind near here on Monday night. The Punjab Police guard, Somnath, pumped in 16 bullets into Sood, 45, killing him on the spot around 11.30pm. Police have arrested Somnath but are yet to disclose what drove him to commit the brutal murder. Sood’s body was sent to the civil hospital for post-mortem.
