Kabaddi World Cup cancelled in Punjab due to unrest over holy book

Kabbadi Wolrd Cup scheduled in Punjab for Nov-Dec has been called off due to Sikh protests in the state. Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced cancellation of the sixth edition of the World Kabaddi Cup that was to be held from November 14 to 28. This is due the the protest over sacrilege of holy book. According to the schedule, the inauguration of the event was to be held at Nehru stadium in Roop Nagar on 15th Nov while the closing ceremony was scheduled at Jalalabad stadium.
