INDEPENDENCE, IOWA — Ex-reality TV star Chris Soules probably wishes his current reality was just a bad dream after fleeing from the scene of a fatal collision that resulted in the death of a neighbor.

The former star of “The Bachelor” was driving his Chevy Silverado on a rural road near his home at around 8 p.m. on April 24. Soules had alcoholic containers on him at the time.

On the road up ahead, farmer Ken Mosher, 66, was driving his tractor. Soules, 35, only caught sight of Mosher at the last second, and rear-ended the John Deere.

With both vehicles out of commission, Soules tried desperately to save Mosher, who was reportedly unconscious and bleeding from the mouth. Soules’ frantic 911 call has since been released by TMZ.

As police arrived, Soules panicked and hopped into another person’s truck to flee the scene. Mosher was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Roughly five hours later, Soules was arrested at his home on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. He is out on $10,000 bond and has been forced to surrender his passport and wear an ankle monitor until his trial.
