Kurds Hold Funeral for 18 SDF Soldiers Killed in Botched US Airstrike Near Al-Tabqa

The US Department of Defense confirmed on April 13 that coalition fighter jets accidentally killed 18 US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces soldiers in an April 11 airstrike near al-Tabqa in the Raqqa province.According to the press release, “The strike was requested by the partnered forces, who had identified the target location as an ISIS fighting position. The target location was actually a forward SDF fighting position. … The Coalition is assessing the cause of the incident and will implement appropriate safeguards to prevent similar incidents in the future.”This footage, captured by an activist in Kurdish-held Ain Issa, shows the funeral procession for the 18 Kurdish soldiers killed in the airstrike.
