2018 Olympic torch to begin journey in October

With the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea less than a year away, the start date for the Olympic torch relay has been revealed. The torch will be lit in Olympia, Greece on Oct. 24 and will make its way across Greece to Athens, where a handover ceremony will be preformed in the 1896 Olympic Stadium. From there, the torch will be passed to over 7,500 people en route to the site of the 2018 games, officially arriving for the Opening Ceremony on February 9.
