A Trove Of Nuclear Test Footage Has Been Declassified, Restored

by Anthony FalcoNewly declassified nuclear test footage shows explosions straight out of Dr. StrangeloveAround 750 films showing the nuclear tests conducted between 1945 and 1962 were recently declassified after being hidden for decades. The tests, which had been stored in vaults across the country, are currently being located and digitally preserved by The Lawrence Livermore National Library (LLNL). They’ve located about 6,500 videos so far, and expect that there are about 10,000 in total.
